RSA – Responsible Service of Alcohol – Face to Face

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Enhance your career in the tourism and hospitality industry by undertaking this essential training course to ensure compliance with liquor licensing laws in Queensland (this is a QLD Liquor Licensing Division approved course).

It is widely expected that by the end of 2008, changes to the Qld Liquor Act will ratify that the Qld Liquor Licensing Division’s RSA program will be MANDATORY for all staff involved in the sale and supply of Liquor state wide.

Delivered by Qld Liquor Licensing-approved Trainers in a face-to-face learning environment at Southbank Institute of Technology, this program is designed to give licensees, liquor serving staff and security employees the knowledge and skills to provide the responsible service and consumption of liquor in a variety of professions and premises where liquor is sold.

Responsible serving practices are aimed at ensuring staff are skilled and knowledgeable and provide the best possible protection against possible breaches of the current Liquor Act by serving minors, unduly intoxicated or disorderly patrons.

It is widely recognised that responsible service of alcohol training is an integral tool in providing consumers with safer, more responsible venues that are committed to practicing harm-minimisation techniques.

Increasing the skill levels of people working in the industry will ultimately raise the standard of professionalism of the industry, which benefits consumers and the general public.

The unit of competency THHBFB09B Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol is a nationally accredited unit of competency.

On successful completion of the course, two (2) certificates are awarded which include a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment as well as a Queensland Liquor Licensing Certificate.

This Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification is often a pre-requisite for employment in a wide range of occupations in the hospitality industry.
