Vocational Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship

Develop the knowledge and skills to take your entrepreneurial instincts to the next level. Gain the qualification and professional development needs of enterprise leaders seeking to establish their own entrepreneurial venture, a business corporation, a not-for-profit organisation or a government department. Develop the knowledge to undertake an entrepreneurial venture, aimed at transforming a commercially viable idea into a marketable product, service or process. Learn to develop a concept for an entrepreneurial venture; analyse and evaluate concept research information; formulate operational plans for an entrepreneurial venture and launch an entrepreneurial venture into a commercial market.





Entry Requirements

No prior formal qualifications are required for entry into this program. However it is strongly recommended that participants must have at least 10 years work experience and it is strongly recommended that students have had a practical management exposure experience and an understanding of issues in developing a new business activity or a new commercial venture

Program Duration

Part Time: No less than a minimum of two 18 week semesters (1 year) and no more than a maximum of eight 18 week semesters (4 years).

The course comprises of four units. You are expected to be able to either start a minimum of one unit or maximum of two units, but not more, each semester. You will have a maximum duration of two semesters from the start of each unit to prepare and submit the evidence require to complete each unit.

Mandatory course lectures are scheduled one night per week from 6pm-9pm for between six to seven weeks at the commencement of each unit. Students will receive a CD containing course background material at commencement of the unit and will need to access the Internet for further course material. An additional minimum of 10 to 20 hours a week is required for research, student study, reading text books and using the internet for assessment and evidence preparation. There are also additional workshops that the student may have to be prepared to organise and participate in outside the standard course times.

Program Articulation

Articulation to post-graduate qualifications is possible, but will need to be negotiated on an individual basis with universities.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.

Outline
