Entry Criteria

School leavers must have completed Year 11 or equivalent  
or
Non school-leavers are selected according to eligibility and merit, vocational experience, previous study and personal competencies  
and
Computer skills are assumed. Students also need to note the general industry requirements for criminal history check prior to working in the industry or entering the field work program, which is a compulsory part of the training. Applicants are required to complete a Working with Children Check (Queensland) through the completion of a Blue Card Application and Request for Yellow Card Exemption Form. These exemptions and clearances are a requirement to work in the Community Services Sector. These forms are available from the institute.

Program Articulation

Successful completion of this program may assist students to gain entry into further study programs and/or may contribute towards study credits.

This includes a block of vocational placement (6 weeks in total).

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.

Standard course cost will be charged for units of study/courses credited via RPL.
