Diploma of Library/Information Services

Entry Criteria

School leavers must have completed Year 12 or equivalent  
or
Non school-leavers are selected according to eligibility and merit, vocational experience, previous study and personal competencies

Skills in gathering and communicating information equivalent to Senior English will be required to successfully complete this Diploma.

Basic level word processing and spreadsheeting skills are also required.

Additional University Pathway Option
Credit towards the following degree program is available to graduates of the Diploma. Students apply to the University for entry:

Bachelor of Information Studies (Charles Sturt University)
1 year academic credit, This degree is only available through distance education.

Program Duration

Full Time        18 months
Classes are scheduled between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Fridays are set aside for any make up classes that need to be scheduled. If employment is obtained or circumstances change during the program, students can negotiate to attend alternate classes.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.

Standard course cost will be charged for units of study/courses credited via RPL.

Government Subsidised Fee:
- Full Rate: $ 3,350

A $40 annual Administration Fee is applicable to Government subsidised enrolments.

Government subsidised fees must be paid through existing payment methods at the time of enrolment.

Full Fee: $15,275 VET FEE-HELP* eligible.

To be eligible for VET FEE-HELP, and defer payment of fees, a student must be enrolled in a full fee paying course.
