RSA – Responsible Service of Alcohol – Online
Enhance your career in the tourism and hospitality industry by undertaking this essential training course to ensure compliance with liquor licensing laws in Queensland (this is a Qld Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing approved course).
Changes to the Qld Liquor Act ratified that the Qld Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing’s RSA program is MANDATORY in Queensland for all staff involved in the sale and supply of Liquor statewide from January 1st, 2009.
Delivered online, this program is designed to equip licensees, liquor serving staff and security employees with the necessary skills to provide for the responsible service and consumption of liquor in a variety of premises where liquor is sold. There is no practical component with this course, it is theory only.
Responsible serving practices are aimed at ensuring staff are skilled and knowledgeable and provide the best possible protection against potential breaches of the current Liquor Act. Breaches could occur when serving minors, unduly intoxicated or disorderly patrons.
It is widely recognised that responsible service of alcohol training is an integral tool in providing consumers with safer, more responsible venues that are committed to practising harm-minimisation techniques.
Increasing the skill levels of people working in the industry will ultimately raise the standard of professionalism of the industry, which benefits consumers and the general public.
The unit of competency SITHFAB009 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol is a nationally accredited unit of competency.
On successful completion of the course, two (2) certificates are awarded: a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment, and a Queensland Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing RSA Certificate.
This Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification is often a pre-requisite for employment in a wide range of occupations in the hospitality industry.
