Entry Criteria

Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent with a Sound Achievement in English  
and
Non school-leavers are selected according to eligibility and merit, vocational experience, previous study and personal competencies

All applicants will be required to sit an entry exam and manual skills test.

Graduates of the Diploma who are registered as a dental technician in Queensland with at least two years of relevant work experience are eligible to apply for entry into Griffith University’s Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Technology (post registration), duration - 1 year. Students must apply for this Griffith University program through QTAC.

Program Duration

Full Time        2 years
(20 hours per week)

Students will be eligible for vocational placement in their second semester on successful completion of industry related assessment tasks.
Students are required to complete a maximum of 240 hours over semesters 2, 3 & 4.
(Graduating students will be eligible for provisional registration with the Dental Technicians and Dental Prosthetists Board of Queensland with a further 12 months industry employment required to gain full registration.)

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.

Standard course cost will be charged for units of study/courses credited via RPL.
