Certificate III in Information Technology Network Administration With Industry A+ Certification Preparation
Career Opportunities
This program will prepare students for A+ certification testing at a recognised Prometric Testing Centre (Southbank Institute of Technology is not a Prometric Testing Centre). Exam cost is additional.
Entry Criteria
Prerequisite knowledge and skills are required that demonstrate basic ICT knowledge and skills that are in line with the Learning Outcomes from the following Certificate II in Information Technology units:
BSBCMN106A Follow workplace safety procedures
ICAD2012B Design organisational documents using computing packages
ICAU1128B Operate a personal computer
ICAU2005B Operate computer hardware
ICAU2006B Operate computing packages
ICAU2013B Integrate commercial computing packages
ICAU2231B Use computer operating system
ICAW2001B Work effectively in an IT environment
ICAW2002B Communicate in the workplace
Students will be required to enrol for the Prerequisite courses for Pretesting if they have not previously completed the above units. Please check with the faculty as to whether credit will be given for previous versions of the certificate II.
Students should have access to:
Internet
Microsoft Office (Instruction is currently provided for Office 2003/2007)
Textbook pack prescribed for this course (please view documentation attached to the Enrolment Forms)

Program Duration
Part Time: Certificate III component 2 x 18 week blocks
Full time study is equivalent to 20 hours plus study per week.
Part time study is equivalent to 10 -12 hours study per week.
Program Award
A Statement of Attendance is issued for A+ from Southbank Institute of Technology. On completion of the two A+ exams, at a qualified Prometrics test centre, students will receive the international qualification from the U.S.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.
Standard course cost will be charged for units of study/courses credited via RPL.
