Family Entry for Dependants

Australian Woolshed, Ferny Grove, Brisbane - Image supplied courtesy of Tourism QueenslandAusAID students can only apply for family members to enter Australia after the students have arrived in Australia. It is important that AusAID students have found permanent accommodation and settled into their studies before applying for family entry. There are a number of conditions that must be met prior to family entry so it is important that you contact the AusAID Liaison Officer as early as possible to arrange the necessary information.

Students who have school-aged dependants will be required to enroll them in a school in Brisbane prior to submitting their application.

Procedure for Family Applications

  1. Collect an application form from the office of the AusAID Liaison Officer at the International Centre.
  2. Complete the form and return it to the office of the AusAID Liaison Officer.
  3. The AusAID Liaison Officer forwards the application to the AusAID post in your home country.
  4. The AusAID post will contact your family regarding a medical checkup and the issuing of the visa.

Please note: The AusAID post usually takes two to three months to process the application.
