Step by Step Guide: How to Apply

A guide to enrolling with Southbank Institute. If you have any further questions don't hestitate to contact us.

  1. Complete the application form
  2. Receive your offer of place
  3. Pay your tuition fees
  4. Receive your electronic confirmation of enrolment
  5. Apply for your student visa
  6. Collect your student visa
  7. Arrange your travel
  8. Welcome to Southbank Institute

  1. Complete the Application Form for International Students.

    2. i. Apply to Southbank Institute, either:

    ii. Fax or post the following supporting documents to Southbank Institute.

    • Copy of passport
    • Educational certificate and academic records
    • Evidence of employment history (if required)
    • English language test results IELTS, TOEFL or ISLPR if available
    • References from employers (if required)
    • Portfolio of artwork or demo tape (if required)

  2. Receive your Offer of Place

    3. Southbank Institute will send you an Offer of Place. This may be a Conditional Offer made on the basis that you meet certain requirements.

    • Students from Assessment Level 3 and Level 4 countries will need to apply for their Pre-Visa Assessment (PVA).

  3. Pay tuition fees

    4. Before the expiry date on the Offer of Place, you should:

    • Pay tuition fees and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) as stated on your offer of place. Note: Your OSHC card will be mailed to your Australian home address. You will need to register your details with OSHC to receive your card, after you have arrived in Australia.
    • Sign and return the attached Southbank Institute International Services Refund Policy and Terms and Conditions Policy.
    • Send the required documentation to show that conditions have been met (if your offer is conditional).

  4. Receive your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE)

    5. You will be sent:

    • Southbank Institute's Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) for International Students
    • A receipt for your payment

    If you are currently studying in Brisbane, you will need to apply for a visa extension. Apply for a student visa extension on the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Website, http://www.immi.gov.au or visit the International Student Support Officer.

  5. Apply for your student visa

    6. The Australian Embassy must see your:

    • Receipt from Southbank Institute
    • Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) for International Students
    • Offer of Place

    Please note: Your payment for OSHC must be made before arriving in Australia.
