1. Certificate III in Dental Assisting HLT31807-4 This qualification provides the skills needed to work as a Dental Assistant. It covers the skills needed to assist a Dentist, Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist in their work with patients as well as providing skills to assist with practice administration. Due to Occupational Health and Safety all participants need to have completed a course of Hepatitis B vaccinations before commencement of work placement. Work placement commences fourteen (14) weeks into the program. A course of injections takes seven months to complete and must be completed prior to work placement. You will be required to provide a copy of your serology report as evidence of sero-conversion to HepB surface antigen (anti-HBsAg). Contact your GP to arrange a referral for a blood test.
2. Diploma of Dental Technology HLT50507-1 This program provides a nationally recognised qualification as a Dental Technician. It comprises units in dental business studies, dental theory, dental materials, dental laboratory practices and occupational health and safety, infection control.
