The International Student Support Officer (ISSO) can help you settle into Australia and your studies at Southbank Institute. The ISSO can assist you or provide referrals for the following:
Settling In
- Living in Brisbane
- Accommodation, banking and transport
- Cultural adjustment and homesickness
- Community Support & multi-cultural services
- Overseas Student Health Cover and health concerns
- Visa Information such as changes in visa type or extensions
- Working while on a student visa, and employment
Studying at Southbank Institute
- Student Orientations
- General information about Southbank Institute facilities and procedures
- How to gain Student Identification (ID) cards, and internet access
- Getting Learning Support for academic difficulties
- Student visa conditions such as attendance, academic performance, contact details
- Student Activities on and off campus with the Southbank Institute activity club ‘Interconnect’
- General questions and answers

8.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. (Australian Time)
9.30am to 4.00pm, Wednesday. (Australian Time)
