SBIT shines at QOF scholarship presentation

Former Southbank Institute of Technology (SBIT) Jewellery Apprentice, Ashley Naumann has been named one of five Queensland Overseas Foundation (QOF) scholarship winners.
In 2010, Ashley achieved the following distinctions through SBIT’s Jewellery Apprentice Awards:
•Winner of the Best Overall Design
•Winner of the People’s Choice Award
•Runner up - Apprentice of the Year
•Runner up – Best Design Folio
He also competed in the National Worldskills Competition that year and won a silver medal.
In 2011, he was invited to exhibit his jewellery pieces at the Australian Jewellery Fair in Brisbane.
Ashley and his wife Annie initially plan to spend time in Florence in Italy, where he will study gold sculpture and engraving techniques prior to them travelling on to the United Kingdom.
