Australian Marketing Awards – Education Finalist 2009

Southbank Institute of Technology, Queensland’s leading training provider, has been recognised for its commitment to best practice by being named a finalist in the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) Awards.

The annual AMI Awards for Marketing Excellence recognises marketing teams and individuals who have achieved success from innovative and effective marketing practices.

Southbank Institute was nominated in the Education category for successfully repositioning the brand in the highly competitive Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector since the Institute’s shift to a statutory authority in April 2008.

Southbank Institute has undergone two years of immense change which has presented a unique set of business and marketing challenges, including a name change, a new governance model and significant product modifications.

The Queensland Government also gave us a mandate to become the state’s lead institute for technology-driven, high-level skills education and training and to develop associate professional qualifications and pathways to university.

Being nominated as a finalist in these awards, confirms we have met these challenges and our outstanding results speak for themselves.
