What is the Staff, Student and Community Voice (SSCV) Committee?

As a Statutory Institute, Southbank Institute of Technology’s Board of Directors is required to establish a number of committees known as Statutory Committees.

The purpose of the SSCV Committee is to act as a conduit between the staff, students and community and the Board on matters of strategic significance. Specifically to make recommendations to the Board on the welfare of students and staff and the Institute’s engagement with students, staff, the VET sector and community.

The Board have approved a Charter for this committee, which outlines the committee’s operations.

Which Board members will sit on the SSCV Committee?

How can students nominate to be the Student Representative on the SSCV Committee?

Interested students are invited to complete and submit a Nomination Form which will be considered by the Board Representatives and the CEO. The students who best demonstrate their ability to serve the student body in matters to be considered by the SSCV Committee will be invited to become a member.

Nominations for Student Representative will close 5.00 pm Friday 16 September 2011.

Next Steps

The SSCV Committee hopes to finalise membership in the coming month and to establish its meeting schedule for the remainder of 2011 and into 2012.
