Educational Induction Program
All newly appointed teachers, tutors and workplace trainers will participate in our innovative, 15 week, Educational Induction Program (EIP) during their first year at Southbank Institute.
This program is an investment in, and commitment to, our very valuable newly appointed educational staff.
To support them, participants have 3 hours reduced contact time (timetabled) each week for the duration of the program, online resources, a series of workshops, and mentor assistance.
Focusing on quality teaching, learning and assessment, the program aims to:
- Empower and prepare new educators, building awareness of responsibilities and confidence in meeting expectations
- Provide opportunities for knowledge sharing and encourage reflective practice
- Foster a dynamic, inspired, responsive, collegial learning community
- Build educator confidence by modelling the use of flexible and engaging approaches to learning, teaching and assessment
Graduates from the program continue to receive support from colleagues through participation in an ongoing learning community.
