"When I first started this course I was nervous. I hadn't studied in four years. It was overwhelming at the beginning but all the teachers are great. They connect to you. They know how you feel. You need to keep on top of it all, which isn't hard! I'm so glad I did this course, which has really helped me get back into the groove of study for university next year.

Joanne

"This year was a totally new experience for me. Coming from another country, everything was a challenge. The way of studying and preparing assessments was new to me. So I had to learn everything from the beginning and the fact that English is not my first language made it even harder.

"However, the fact that I was being taught by the most wonderful teachers, combined with my aim to be somebody in life helped me continue this course. The patience of the teachers has been amazing.

"Overall, I am really happy with this course and its teachers. Thank you for a wonderful experience."

Arsida

"I have done a lot of things in my life, but going to Southbank and doing my two subjects was probably the thing I am most proud of. I would often brag about how great it was doing the ATP course, and my kids would laugh at me and ask, 'How's school mum?' I know they loved hearing about it.

"It was all worth it - with the suggestion and fantastic support of my literacy and learning teacher I was able to use my two ATP subjects to help me apply to university. Now I am off to UQ to study anthropology."

"While ATP was a demanding course requiring regular study time and sacrifices to my finances and social life, the experience was life changing. The dedicated teachers at Southbank provided excellent tuition, encouragement and support, and equipped me with the academic skills necessary for tertiary education.

"Not only did I achieve excellent results in all my subjects and successfully manage to combine parenting with studying, I also discovered a love for learning, a sense of pride in accomplishment and a new-found confidence in my abilities.

"The elation at being offered my first preference to study Behavioural Science at QUT Carseldine was just reward for my efforts. Now, the exciting journey of tertiary education begins and the possibility of a rewarding career in the future is motivation to continue studying hard."

Fiona

"The year I attended the ATP course was the most challenging year I have ever experienced. It provided me with a sense of fulfilment and it was very worthwhile. It is an excellent course for those who haven't studied for a long time or want to do their HSC or Senior Certificate again."

Yukie

"ATP is definitely a worthwhile course to complete. I ended up completing ATP with the ranking I needed for my first preference and have started studying animation and journalism at QUT.

"When I found out about my university offer I was ecstatic. I felt like I had finally achieved something for myself. It's great to be one of the graduating students!"

Kathryn

"As I start my last week of this course, I look at what the Adult Tertiary Program has done for me. It has given me so much more than I could ever imagine. It has given me power - the power of confidence and the power of knowledge. However, the most powerful thing this course has taught me is the power of self. I know now that I can do anything. I have faith in me."
