Performing Arts
Performing arts programs span a range of technical and creative disciplines.
There are diploma and advanced diploma programs in acting and theatre set design and construction.
The advanced diploma acting program incorporates a range of units of study covering:
- auditioning
- basic business skills to assist in managing an acting career
- expressions through movement
- screen and TV studies
- singing and performing on stage
- stage management
As an acting student you will learn in a creatively charged and professional atmosphere with strong emphasis on developing practical skills through simulated work environments and live projects.
The diploma focusing on theatre set construction incorporates units that cover:
- design and construction of a wide variety of sets and props
- theatre lighting, set painting and installation
- advanced 3-D finishing techniques and urethane-based props
- organising and facilitating of rehearsals
This diploma is ideal for developing the skills necessary for employment as a stagehand, it’s the perfect course to set the stage for a successful career.
