Fitness Continuing Education Credits

Southbank Institute of Technology offer a diverse and appealing range of short fitness courses which are all accredited for Continuing Education Credits (CEC’s) to submit with your Fitness Australia registration renewal. Along with offering professional development, fitness short courses also give individual personal development. Completing a fitness course will also give you the opportunity to develop a specialisation in your chosen area.

1. Short Course in Group Exercise Instruction SRFGEX001A
This program is designed for current fitness instructors wishing to attain additional knowledge and skills in the area of group exercise instruction. Learners are trained to plan and conduct safe, effective and enjoyable group exercise classes for low risk individuals. The program covers a range of different class styles to achieve a variety of fitness objectives. This program is recognised for 7 CEC’s (Continuing Education Credits).

2. Short Course – Water Based Fitness FFS438
Turn your passion for fitness into a profession, with a short course on the basics of water based fitness. Develop the ability to plan and instruct a range of water-based exercise classes for the general population, as well as pick up essential skills in water rescue techniques. It’s the perfect course to get your career moving. This course is recognised for 7 CEC’s (Continuing Education Credits)

3. Children Trainer Specialisation FFS441
Turn your passion for fitness into a profession, with a short course on the basics of providing fitness training to children. Develop the ability to assess fitness levels, plus plan and review exercise programs for low risk children and young adolescents. With participants able to register as a Children`s Trainer under the Fitness Professional Registration Scheme run by Fitness Australia, it’s the perfect course to allow your career to grow.

4. Older Adult Trainer Specialisation FFS442
Extend your passion for fitness, with this fitness short course on the basics of providing fitness training to more mature members of the community. Study the physical, psychological and social changes due to the aging process, and use this knowledge to assess fitness and plan exercise programs. On completion, participants are able to register as an Older Adult Trainer under the Fitness Australia professional registration scheme

5. Course in Pilates Matwork Instruction 39182QLD
Extend your career in the fitness industry, with a short course designed to enhance your Pilates teaching skills. Learn how to plan, deliver and evaluate Matwork classes using Pilates techniques and equipment, and cater for a broad range of clients with differing goals and abilities.
